During high-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic tests, mechanical components such as bolts, plugs, and fittings may be accidentally expelled at high velocity. To ensure adequate operator protection and prevent perforation of containment structures, we carried out a complete ballistic assessment of the required barrier thicknesses for concrete, steel, and ballistic fabrics.




The study considered all potential projectiles provided by the client (mass, diameter, test pressure) and computed their energy and impact velocity using mechanical principles and conservative assumptions on pressure decay along the initial trajectory.
